PDF Merger & Page Extractor

Add your PDFs, see every page as a numbered chip, then reorder files and pages, exclude pages or select a range and download. All work happens in this tab, so confidential documents never leave your device.

Runs in your browser Everyday utilities

The PDF engine (about 200 kB compressed) is loaded the first time you add a file, and it runs entirely in this tab.

Drop PDF files here, or add them from your device. Nothing is uploaded.

A page number counts the pages that would go into the merged file, in merged order (1 = first page, excluded pages are not counted). Reversed ranges such as 5-2 are read as 2-5. Extracted output uses only the marked pages.

Click a page number to drop it from the merge. Drag a page, or use its arrow buttons, to change the order — the buttons work without a mouse.

No PDF files yet. Your files stay in this browser tab: there is no upload step, and no server ever sees them.

What this tool does, and what it cannot do

  • pdf-lib copies page objects, it cannot draw them. Pages are listed as numbered chips, never as thumbnails — there is no preview of your content here.
  • Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs are rejected, because pdf-lib refuses to open them. Remove the password first with the tool that set it.
  • Form fields with appearance streams, annotations, embedded JavaScript and digital signatures may not survive a page copy. The output is for reading and printing, not a certified copy of the original.
  • Document metadata (title, author, subject, keywords), page labels such as roman numerals, and bookmarks are not carried over — verified against pdf-lib. The merged file gets its own creation date and pdf-lib as producer.
  • Any PDF size is accepted, but everything is held in memory. Above 60 MB in total, or more than 2,000 pages, the tool stops and asks you to press the button a second time.
  • Only PDF files are read: the type must be application/pdf or the name must end in .pdf, and an empty 0-byte file is refused. A file with no readable pages is reported in its own row.
  • The merged result is re-opened and its page count checked before you are offered the download. That check cannot tell you whether the pages look right, since they cannot be rendered here.

How to use

  1. Press Add PDF files or drop them onto the box. The PDF engine loads the first time you add a file and every file is checked and counted by page.
  2. Reorder files with the Up and Down buttons or by dragging, and reorder pages the same way. Click a page number to exclude it from the merge, or Include all again to restore it.
  3. To pull out only some pages, type a range such as 1-4, 7 in Pages to select and press Select, then Extract selected pages.
  4. Press Merge into one PDF. The result is re-opened and its page count verified before the download is offered; use Download again if you need it twice.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. The files are read and merged by a PDF library running in this tab, with no upload step and no server involved. That is the main reason to prefer this over sites that ask you to upload the documents.

What can it not do?

It copies page objects rather than drawing them, so there are no thumbnails. Password-protected PDFs are rejected, and form fields, annotations, signatures, bookmarks and document metadata may not survive. Treat the output as a copy for reading and printing, not a certified original.

Is there a size limit?

No fixed limit, but everything is held in memory. Above 60 MB in total or 2000 pages the tool stops and asks you to press the button a second time to continue. Very large sets may be slow or fail in a browser tab.
