Keyword Density Checker & Word Frequency Analysis

Counts characters, terms, sentences and readability in your browser, prints the density formula next to the tables, and says plainly which metrics are not valid for Chinese instead of faking a word list.

Terms = English words + Chinese characters, because a character is the smallest honest unit without a dictionary.

Flesch Reading Ease — Only meaningful for English, where the formula can count syllables. It is skipped when less than 80% of the terms are English words.
Avg characters per Chinese sentence — Sentence length is the readability signal that transfers to Chinese.

The Flesch score is not valid for Chinese: it assumes space-separated words and syllable counts. For Chinese, read the characters-per-sentence figure instead.

Top single words (max 50)

No English words here — Chinese text is covered in the character-group table.

Counts English words only. Chinese has no spaces, so it is covered by the character-group table below.

Two-word phrases

Nothing matches the current filters.

Phrases are counted inside one sentence, so they never span a full stop.

Three-word phrases

Nothing matches the current filters.

Same rule as the two-word list: one sentence only, overlapping counts allowed.

Frequent character groups (2 / 3 chars)

Nothing matches the current filters.

This is a bigram and trigram view, not segmented words. Without a dictionary Chinese cannot be split into words correctly, so continuous Chinese runs are counted two and three characters at a time. Groups starting with a stop character are ignored.

Density = occurrences of this term ÷ total terms in the text. Phrase rows overlap the same words, so a phrase column never adds up to 100%.

How to use

  1. Paste the article text or the page source, then press Extract body text from HTML — the line under the box reports how many characters of tags and script were dropped.
  2. Read the metric tiles: characters, terms, sentences, average words per sentence and unique English words, plus the sentence-length signal for Chinese.
  3. Press Remove stopwords and Only terms used 2+ times to cut noise; both switches re-filter all four tables at once.
  4. Click a column header to sort by term, count or density, then press Copy table to paste the visible rows into a spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

What is a healthy keyword density?

There is no target percentage. Google has never used a density threshold to judge a page, and writing to one produces repetition that readers notice and rankings do not reward. Use the report descriptively: confirm the words that define your topic appear often enough to prove the page is actually about it, that they also sit in the title and headings naturally, and that no single term dominates the text. Pages written normally usually land between roughly 0.5% and 2% for the main phrase.

Can it analyse a live page for me?

No. Nothing is fetched, so paste the text, or drop the page source into the box and press Extract body text from HTML. That strips script, style, noscript, template and SVG before counting and tells you exactly how many characters were removed, so the totals stay explainable.

Why do the phrase percentages not add up to 100?

Each row is measured on its own: density is the number of occurrences of that term divided by the total term count, and phrases overlap the same words. The rows for seo audit and seo audit report both consume the same instance of seo audit, so the columns double-count shared text by design. Only the single-word column is even close to summable, and the rest of the vocabulary still takes up the difference.
